Salt Satyagraha
On 1930 March12,Gandhiji and his followers marched from Sabarmati to Dandiseashore in Gujarat. In front of an looking crowd Gandhijiand took a handful of salt,and raising his hand, said”This handful of salt Inthe symbol of strength.This fist may be crushed but the salt will not be given up.” Thus salt become the symbol of strength in the history of the Indian freedom struggle.

The salt Satyagraha in Kerala was held at payyannur beach in Kannur.It was led by K. Kelappan. Later he came to be known as’ Kerala gandhi’.
